President Barack Obama, Purple Inaugural Ball

LETTERS OF HEROES FROM THE INAUGURAL PURPLE BALL

LOS ANGELES, Jan. 12 /PRNewswire/ -- The Inaugural Purple Ball is organized to celebrate the Inauguration of President Barack Obama and honor Bipartisanship, Unity and Diversity. We not only have been sensitive to bringing together diverse communities, to take part in this historic evening, but our crowd depicts the wealthy and the not so wealthy, the veteran and the civilian, the young and the old, the gay and the straight, the healthy and the disabled, the single and the married and will represent the four corners of the world. We have made it our mission to ensure that Unity and Diversity are prevalent by encouraging a variety of people and community members of different origins and backgrounds, sexes and religions to attend The Inaugural Purple Ball.
We have brought together Barack Obama's campaign endorsers and surrogates that were assigned by The Obama for America Campaign to go on the road in support of President Elect. We have the honor of a rock star Host Committee in attendance including: Louis Gossett Jr., Patricia Arquette, Amy Brenneman, Ed Harris, Ashley Judd, Josh Lucas, Amy Madigan, Brad Silberling and Kate Walsh. Having the pleasure of their company will make the night more meaningful as they have stories of their own from days and nights on the campaign and their leadership helped us take ownership of this moment. IL DIVO was invited for their diverse representation and their angelic voices. Our featured guest performers also include Peter Cincotti, UMAD and Radio King Orchestra. Our confirmed and distinguished guests also include: Hill Harper, Lisa Marie Presley, John Cusack, Terrence Howard, Djimon Hounsou, The Honorable Steve Westly, Herbie Hancock, David Alan Grier, Clifton Powell, Angela Bassett, Deidre Hall and The Honorable Senator Leticia Van de Putte.
The Eracism Foundation founded by Louis Gossett Jr. was chosen as the benefactor of The Inaugural Purple Ball for its emphasis on equality, unity and diversity.
Five members of The United States Armed Forces were chosen from scores of submissions to receive two complimentary tickets each to join us as honored representatives of their respective branch. We also have discounted VIP tickets for the Military Personnel, Labor Unions, Teachers and Government Employees to allow everyone a chance to attend. Along the way we have formed a special case division that reviews individual requests for complimentary or additionally discounted tickets, which have mostly been granted.
Immediately following the ball Flower Power Foundation will arrange to pick up and deliver all floral arrangements used as decor to distribute to injured veterans at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, the National Naval Medical Center and the Washington DC VA Medical Center in the Nation's Capital.
The Inaugural Purple Ball is confirmed to be held on January 20, 2009 at the prestigious Fairmont Hotel in Washington, DC. It is going to be an elite and historic evening.
